They are angry and confused due to the cognitive dissonance they are experiencing as it relates to the economic and political indoctrination they have received their entire lives.
Surely, only government must provide money. Free markets fail at this. An economy cannot grow and function without a central bank or central monetary authority. An economy cannot prosper without keynesian-style fiscal or monetary meddling. A deflationary currency will discourage investment and lending, and send the economy into a deflationary spiral. People are bad so an government made up of people is necessary to regulate money, and ensure that it is distributed to the poor. . .otherwise people would starve to death in the streets in perpetuity, and evil greedy be-monacled rich people would reign, unchallenged forevermore, drinking the blood of the dead and dying poor in the streets. A mighty military, an empire building machine must exists and have increasing funds thrown into it's voracious jaws, otherwise we would all immediately be destroyed by terrorists; thus our wise overlords must take our money, to save us from terrorists, and from ourselves. All of our great society's children must be educated compulsorily, in the same way, at the same pace, in the same institution, under the same curriculum, and they all must become "well rounded" in the arbitrarily decided-upon body of curriculum which our leaders know to be the only and best canon of holy subjects to be learned, before they may branch out or specialize in any way shape or form. Great bodies of artificial law and coercive regulation must be invented by those who have been anointed by the holy priesthood of democracy, to be administered centrally upon all, by the ordained, jack-booted vassals of the state, with impunity, to make sure that none ever dare to oppose, otherwise druggies hopped up on goof-balls will rule the streets and murder and rape will run rampant. Evil fire-sticks must not be allowed to be handled by the natives, lest they all be tempted to embark upon rampageous killing sprees.
Bitcoin presently challenges some of these eternal truths held by the majority of the population of western nation-states. . . and it will soon give rise to institutions and culture which challenge the whole of them.
That makes people mad.
