Phrasal verb at last!

How valuable would be arabic? I already know some hebrew (thanks grandma!) that is kind of related to arabic.

I don't know whether to start with arabic because my lack of money. Besides, in some mosques is tought arabic for free but for now I even don´t dare to
take one simple lesson because...you know.

Hold on, boy! I have used more in my two other previous messages :p...I'm loosing up and getting comfy...by training and trade I tend to use more mmmm formal English...but when speaking outside a business setting I'm much more informal, easier to slip up though.

Are you thinking to live in an Arabic country? or working exporting goods over to the Middle East?
Otherwise it's not worthy of spending time on it, unless it's a hobby :roto2:
I worked for more than 2 years and no need of learning Arabic, contracts, contacts, phone calls, correspondence all in English. Indians (the professional working population over there) speak good English.

Not thinking about living in an arabic country, but thinking about make aliyah to Israel (I would have a lot of paperwork to do before that, but it's just an idea) someday.

You say it's a worthless effort because arab people do speak english. In that case, of course there´s no need at all.

Well, maybe I should focus on speak and write actual English and not the subset I got used to.

Hugs&kisses (in the good kind)*

Family Guy joke.

Whom are you talking about?
who's the "honey"?

Dazed and confused too...

Yeap, however the issue is that we know what "some" English means in Spain. Barely enough to order breakfast in IHOP...
To be honest, we are very good in written English, we finished school with an amazing command of grammar...and no idea of how to speak or understand English. It'd be much better to interview in English (or French or whatever other language needed for that job) directly.

Yes, it is good to speak more than two languages, but it would depend on where you work and what job you do. In finance THE language is English, in engineering and R&D German can be useful too, in trade some Chinese, also useful....I cannot see the reason to learn French unless you live there or work for a French company. Of course, if someone loves to learn new language, well go on and learn as many as you feel like. I got fed up enough learning English and Dutch.

My beloved Nam, French is a beautiful language to use above all when you love a wowan. Do not forget the fact that frenches are the inventors of the MENAGE À TROI :p

Anyway, I agree with you that the second language will depend on many different factors as you say but English at this moment it is not good enough to have a steady job in Hispanistan. You have been very lucky living in USA

Un gross bisous pour toi mon coeur:cool:

Hey! I lived in The Netherlands and I only spoke Spanish and English, I didn't even try to learn Dutch for the first couple of years. No problem landing good jobs. At the time, I worked within an international department, ironically I never worked with Latam, but APAC and MEA.
I don't get why it's so important to speak so many languages in Spain...how many companies export regularly to France and Germany? How many companies have international clients or can even compete in the international markets?...

I'd rather learn Italian, it pleases my ears much more than French....Funny enough I worked for a while in Belgium and Luxembourg...we all spoke English (allegedly), well I said something in English and they would reply in French, thankfully I could understand most of it...They didn't like it when bosses made them spoke English (tough luck!), though they preferred it to speaking Flemish :roto2:

No es por nada, pero si quereis chatear en ingles entre vosotros, y comentaros vuestros CV por que no quedais en un chat?.
Creo que el creador del hilo se refería a otra cosa.
Sin ánimo de molestar.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me :p

And so what? we are using English in a thread about how to learn English!!
We're so naughty.
Coronel should practice his/her English, this is a perfect place / way to do so. I'm not ashamed of writing in English in this thread.

....." I'm not ashamed of writing in English in this thread...."

Let it :)roto2:) be, all forums need pets...we got animosa, remkool, lokeno 8:, they are cute as a pie!

Can't agree at all...this guy is way far from being funny or cute.

Animosa is a tireless optimistic troll. Lokeno/Xilebo are on their private Bipolar Express...but Remkulo is an actual troll.

When browsing for "troll" word, Remkulo should pop up.

A disrespectful guy above everything, calling names other forum users, posting bullshit and crap coming from nowhere related to...well, check out the thread I've just posted above and read some reasons to believe in.
