Kevin Spacey will be charged with a further seven sensual offences, the Crown Prosecution Service has announced.
Prosecutors said today that they had authorised additional criminal charges against the Hollywood actor in relation to alleged sensual assaults against a man between 2001 and 2004.
The CPS charges include three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sensual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in sensual activity without consent.
Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said: “The CPS has authorised additional criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 63, for a number of sensual assaults against one man between 2001 and 2004.
“The CPS has also authorised one charge of causing a person to engage in sensual activity without consent. The authority to charge ***ows a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.”
In July, Spacey formally denied a series of sensual assault charges dating back 17 years in his first appearance at the Old Bailey. He pleaded not guilty to five allegations relating to three men who are now in their thirties and forties.
Those alleged offences are said to have taken place in London and Gloucestershire between 2005 and 2013. The actor was artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in Waterloo, central London, at the time.
Mr Justice Wall scheduled a trial lasting three to four weeks from June 6 next year. A further hearing will take place earlier in 2023.
The judge granted Spacey continued unconditional bail. The actor thanked the judge at the conclusion of the 15-minute hearing.
