El director alemán ha fallecido a los 81 años de cáncer de páncreas.
Deja una filmografía que me entusiasma. Están en mi corazón: Das Boot (1981), The NeverEnding Story (1984), Enemy Mine (1985), Shattered (1991), In the Line of Fire (1993), Air Force One (1997) y Troy (2004). No en mi corazón pero sí en mi apreciación Outbreak (1995).
